The Charlton Down Resident’s Association (CDRA) was formed in 2000 and all members work on a voluntary basis. The basic aim of the association is to facilitate a harmonious community through good communication and for other groups within the village the CDRA supports and promotes their activities.
The group has a co-operative working relationship with a number of other bodies, such as, West Dorset District Council, Charminster Parish Council, Community Police Service, Dorset Community Action and Meadfleet (The contracted land management company).
CDRA has been particularly active in negotiations with the Local District Council in the formation of recreation for all and appropriate use of public open space.
Committee meetings are held monthly with six planned open meetings per year and an Annual General Meeting. Details of these may be found on both village notice boards, along with contact details of your representatives.
The committee welcomes your views and ideas either by direct contact or the suggestion box, located in the village shop. Whilst we endeavour to support issues presented to us, we ask you to appreciate that we are a voluntary organisation of who most are in full-time employment.
